Since baby’s skin reacts in a very sensitive way when it comes in contact with the environment during the first couple of months, choosing the right care products for your child is particularly important. That is why, it is vital to use products that meet all the needs of the youngest and smallest among us.
Nappies are available in many different shapes and materials and produced by quite as many manufacturers. Finding the right nappy is often a question of how the nappy fits and whether it is compatible to your baby’s skin. Nappies are usually divided into two groups: disposable nappies and cloth nappies.
Nappies made of cloth are characterised by their breathability. Due to various ways of wrapping them, they are particularly adaptable to the size of your baby and very skin friendly as well. This type of nappy is usually made of cotton and thus needs to be changed more often to prevent baby’s clothes from being soaked. Although, cloth nappies seem to be way more ecological and organic at first sight, new parents must keep in mind that they have to be washed and dried every single day. In the long run, however, they do pay off. Furthermore, the cloth nappies are also suitable for being used as a pad, burp cloth or thin blanket.
Classic disposable nappies are made by manufacturers such as Pampers or Chicco. Different sizes make them fit perfectly and make sure that they are neither too big nor too small. The major benefit of disposable nappies is that they are made of several layers which make them particularly absorbent and prevent moisture from passing. Their limited breathability, however, can be potentially problematic since baby’s skin might be irritated and reddened. At this point, you’d better be giving both types a go before finally deciding on which one is best for your little one.
Swim nappies turn every swimming session into a clean and fun adventure.
A well-equipped place to change your little one’s nappies often contains much more than a stack of nappies and cloths. Radiant heaters for changing tables for instance, come in super handy when it’s cold outside and make your little one feel warm and cosy while being changed. The used nappy is then to be put into the nappy pail. Every now and then your baby might have irritated and reddened skin in the nappy area. This is when a caring lotion needs to be applied, since it helps baby’s skin to regenerate. In order to be able to change your little one’s nappies on the go, you need to be equipped with a changing bag. They usually come in a matching design and thus complement your trendy pram perfectly.
Being equipped with the right accessories will turn every bathing session into a unique and exiting adventure. But before the fun can begin, the water has to be checked for the right temperature at approximately 37°C. It doesn’t matter if you own a classic bath thermometer such as the Ocean by NUK or a colourful digital thermometer – in any case, a bath thermometer is an indispensable helper in your bathroom.
Wash cloth and sponge feel particularly soft on your little one’s skin and turn body care into the most pleasant and easiest routine of the day. In order to add some more fun to your baby’s bathing session, you need to be equipped with bath toys such as the colourful Octopals by TOMY. After your little one’s bathing session is over, he will be delighted to be wrapped into a cosy hooded towel which is soft and smooth and dries your little water lover in no time at all.
Does your child have a temperature or not? A thermometer provides immediate clarification and displays your little one’s current temperature. Here you can either choose a classic thermometer or else the soother thermometer by reer. This thermometer looks exactly like a regular soother, but while your little one is sucking, it measures his temperature and shows the result on the digital display. There is no easier way to check up on your child’s temperature. Another gentle alternative are so-called infrared thermometers that measure baby’s temperature on their forehead or else in their ear. These devices are offered by manufacturers such as Chicco, NUK or Braun. If your little one has tummy trouble, you can relieve the pain by using hot-water bottles or warming pillows.
As soon as your little one’s teeth start to cut through, fever usually occurs as a side effect. Teething aids which are often made of resilient synthetic material can relieve much of the pain. Some of them can also be put into the fridge before use which has a pleasant cooling effect.
Once your child’s teeth are visible they need to be cleaned as well. At the beginning finger toothbrushes and baby toothpaste are just the right choice for keeping up with baby’s dental care, since this is when you as parents are in control of the situation. Later on, you can easily switch to children’s toothbrushes that often feature a child-appropriate, ergonomic shape which is perfect for your child to take over his daily dental care.
Baby care sets feature the basic equipment of care products for your child. Usually they contain a brush as well as nail scissors. Depending on the purpose of such sets, they might also come with a thermometer and nasal aspirator to complement the package. The baby toiletry bag by Babymoov also contains a bath thermometer and a teething ring that can be cooled in the fridge. All the individual parts find a neat place in this practical bag.
