Once your family has got a new member, the question of how to clean your daily environment properly becomes much more relevant. Of course, you want the best for you and your family and thus you pay particularly attention to keeping your household clean but not sterile. Being equipped with the right detergents which are suitable for babies and infants, you will be able to clean your house with a safer and more secure feeling. More information >
Sooner or later your little darling will move independently and thus come in contact with plenty of surfaces and floors in your house. In order to maintain basic cleanliness, you should make sure that no one enters your living quarters with their outdoor shoes on when your baby is currently in a crawling phase. Detergents for floors and surfaces should be chosen carefully. Where it is at all possible, water should be enough to keep surfaces clean. A dust cloth is not very dangerous to your little one’s health, since it can be used without any detergents. For cleaning, we generally recommend you to use organic detergents that are ecologically compatible. This way, you don’t have to worry about your little one dropping his soother or favourite toy on the floor and puts it back in his mouth again. In addition to this, organic detergents are not only beneficial for your household but for the environment as well.
Cleaning the clothes children wear, will be of great importance to you – especially when stubborn stains come in contact with your little one’s sensitive skin. Surely, you don’t want to clean your child’s clothes without the washing machine. That is why, you should pay particular attention to buying skin-friendly washing agents and fabric softeners. Moreover, every household of a family must be equipped with a so-called laundry sanitiser or disinfectant. When you add this to the laundry, it disinfects your clothes and leaves you feeling reassured especially in case of illness and when bacteria contaminated the clothes. Laundry sanitisers also fight fungi or mould on your clothes. Regular cleaning of your child’s toys in the washing machine is also recommended. This, in particular applies to all things your child puts in his mouth during his oral phase. Most of the cuddly toys or toys that are made of fabric are suitable for being cleaned in the washing machine at up to 60°C.
During the first weeks of your little one’s life, it is of vital importance to keep his baby bottles and soothers clean at all times. These items do not only require to be clean, but need to be sterilised or boiled in order to remove all residues of bacteria properly. This, however, only applies to the first eight months of your baby’s life. After that, you can go on cleaning in a more relaxed way. When rinsing baby bottles, you need to pay attention to using specific bottle cleanser and a suitable bottlebrush. Soothers can be cleaned in the dishwasher. As long as your dishwasher reaches a temperature of at least 60°C, you can also clean your child’s bottles in it. If you want to be on the safe side when cleaning, you can also use an ecological detergent or else continue cleaning the baby bottles by hand. As soon as soothers or teats are cracked, cleaning them won’t help anymore and it is about time to replace these items with new ones. The danger of bacteria growing on the damaged areas is way too high.
